About the project

Cooking with AI, without grading on a curve.

For one year, Jason is using ChatGPT to help develop real meals for real people—and recording what happens after the recipe leaves the chat and meets a kitchen.

The rules

  1. The recipe is published before cooking so it can be used in Cook Mode.
  2. What was actually cooked is recorded separately from what the AI proposed.
  3. Every result counts: hits, misses, repairs, and magnificent disasters.
  4. Household reactions and changes for next time are part of the recipe’s history.
  5. No life story before the ingredient list. Civilization has suffered enough.

What the ratings mean

Hit
Worth making again without major changes.
Needs work
The idea has promise, but the recipe needs another pass.
Miss
Not worth repeating in its current form.
Magnificent disaster
A failure notable enough to become part of family folklore.

The AI’s role

ChatGPT helps develop and revise recipes, structures each entry, and publishes updates. Jason does the cooking, makes the judgment calls, and retains full veto power over robot-generated quantities of cayenne.
